To re-handle, simply remove blade and insert the new handle through the head of the hatchet. The head should start to snug towards the thicker portion of the handle toward the top. To set the head, turn the hatchet on its head. While holding onto the handle, drop the hatchet from about 10" onto a solid surface. After five or six drops the head will set firmly. As the hatchet is used the head will further set itself.
