Cleaning the Sharpening Stone
Rinse the stone under running water for about a minute or two to remove debris and metal filings. You can also use a degreaser like kerosene or paint thinner with a small brush to loosen oil and metal pieces.

Cleaning the File
• Hold the file by the handle with a firm grip.
• Place the tip of the file on a durable surface, such as a workbench, to stabilize it.
• Using a file card or wire brush, clean the file by brushing in one direction, away from your body. Start. near the handle and move towards the tip.
• Repeat the brushing motion until the file is completely clean.
• (Optional) To prevent rust and ensure smooth operation, lightly coat the file with a thin layer of oil. Wipe off any excess oil with a clean cloth.

Storing
Store in a cool dry place.
